    Hi! I’m KB.

    WanderingWounded.com | Author

I'm a writer and editor with an itch to roam! Since I started counting I've travelled 220, 092 air miles (that's nearly to the moon) - and more by rail, road, river and sea. I chase cultural experiences around the globe; I have a PhD in ritual and love the way people relate to their world. I've done this despite an invisible illness and chronic pain. I'm passionate about encouraging others to explore and helping to find solutions and alternatives for fulfilling travel.

    What I’m reading now

I always seem to have a few books on the go when I'm busy...
Rome, Edition - 10 eBook by Lonely PlanetLonely Planet Rome
The Age of Wonder: How the Romantic Generation Discovered the Beauty and Terror of Science - Richard Holmes

This is my pick for an unlikely travel book - alongside the scientific advances there are travelogues from the age of exploration that defy the conventions of later imperial expeditions, and even the first hot air balloon adventures. Plenty to inspire wanderlust!

Thanksgiving: The Holiday at the Heart of the American Experience - Melanie Kirkpatrick
A Million Years in a Day: A Curious History of Daily Life - Greg Jenner
Under the Knife: A History of Surgery in 28 Remarkable Operations - Arnold van de Laar
The Rituals of Dinner - Margaret Visser
War, disability and rehabilitation in Britain: 'Soul of a nation' - Julie Anderson
Out of Sorts: Making Peace with an Evolving Faith - Sarah Bessey
